Windows 10: Volume Slider no longer appears

Like most everything else Microsoft touches... they break it. My little speaker appears in the icon area of the task bar. Now, suddenly, I can't get the volume control to appear. Just hover over it, and it tells you the volume. But the slider never appears. Nor do settings. Or anything else. Right click, left click, double click, wheel it, yell at it... Nothing. Yes, my mouse buttons work. Every other app responds to the actions, including other icons next to that little speaker Can't those Windows UI guys do ANYTHING right without breaking it?? What is my solution?? Reboot?

  Are you able to use Volume slider on the taskbar?
  
• 
  Do you get any error message?
  
• 
  Are you able to see sound icon on the taskbar?
  

I suggest you to hoover your mouse on the right side of the taskbar and click on the sound icon and try to use volume slider and check if it that works.

Follow the steps below and check.

• 
  Discover the empty slot on the
  Taskbar and Right click.
  
• 
  Click on Properties.
  
• 
  Under Taskbar tab and Notification area
  click on Custom.
  
• 
  Tap on Select which icons appears on the taskbar.
  
• 
  Turn on Volume option.

Volume Slider suddenly disappeared

Hi There

My volume slider in Windows 10 suddenly disappeared.

Usually I click once on the volume icon on the task bar and the volume slider appears and I can easily adjust the volume.

The volume icon is still appearing on the task bar next to the wifi icon but when I click on it, I have to click twice and instead of the volume slider appearing, (which was there an hour ago), it brings up the volume mixer with the speakers, system sounds
and google chrome.

Anyone have any ideas how to correct this?

Volume slider not working on Windows 11

Hi, I'm having this problem in which the volume slider nor the hotkeys work on increasing or decreasing the volume. The visual slider works but the volume of the PC remains static. The only way to increase/decrease it is by altering the volume in the application i'm using (YouTube, Spotify, ecc). I've already tried restarting the service, windows explorer (found the same question from another user but trying the suggestions that were givven to him didn't work). Anyone knows how to fix this problem? Thanks!
