Need help Windows 10 VPN and Remote Desktop Connection

When your using a VPN connection to create an remote desktop connection to your work PC

The RRAS (Routing and Remote Access Server) vill assign you a uniqe port number.

That port number is between 49152 - 65535.

So in order for the remote desktop connection to work, you need to add that port range allong with port 3389, in your firewall allow list

Here is how it works, and the port numbers:

    Home PC----3389---VPN ---3389---Company Router/Firewall---3389---RRAS---49152-65535---Work PC

  3. Multi-monitor remote in using Remote Desktop Connection client with a VPN?

    So here's the skinny.

I'm working remotely on the weekends using a VPN through a third-party client right now. It makes me use one monitor to work, and I want to remote in with multi-monitor support.

    Notes:

    - I am remoting in from a Windows 10 Home computer into a Windows 7 Enterprise computer. Both are capable of multi-monitor through the Remote Desktop Connection (RDC) client
    built into Windows.

    - Both computers have two monitors - that is, I have two monitors on my work computer and two monitors on my home computer.

    - Given that this is a work computer that I am remoting into, I
don't want to use port forwarding
for this connection, I want to use a VPN connection.

Can this be done? Can I use a VPN connection through the RDC program in Windows 10 in order to get multi-monitor support? Do I need to add a VPN connection to the VPN client in my Windows 10 or can I just go through the RDC program? How do I set it up? What
information do I need to put where?

If not, is there a work around? Do I need to find a VPN client that supports multi-monitor work? Does anyone know of any good ones?

    Thanks in advance for helping!

VPN/Remote Desk Top Connection Stopped Working

So with COVID-19 and all I'm working from home and for the last month everything has been fine. As of yesterday however I can no longer get my VPN and remote desktop connection to my work computer to function. I went through some trouble shooting with
our tech support but he's got no ideas; guy had "never seen this error message before". He was able to log in with my credentials from his office but has no suggestions for me.

I get the message "The connection to the remote computer could not be established. You might need to change the network settings for this connection"

I've tried updating windows, removing and resetting up the VPN information and still the same message. I checked the event log and and it said "The user ****(redacted)**** dialed a connection named HEP VPN which has failed. The error code returned on failure
    is 720."

The only reference to this error I can find references dial up connections and in some places also VPN. The following mentions dial up:

Error Message: Error 720: No PPP Control Protocols Configured - Microsoft Support

This one mentions dial up and VPN but not for windows 10 as I have:

Error codes for dial-up or VPN connectoperty=

Any suggestions would be welcome! Thanks!!!
