  1. VPN client with kill switch, as an alternative to the native Win10 VPN?

    Hi all,

TL;DR: is there any Win10 VPN client I can use to connect to my home VPN, possibly with kill-switch functionality?

I have searched Reddit, but unfortunately all posts either point to VPN providers or to ideas for Torrents.

When I am traveling, I usually connect my Win10 laptop to my home private VPN, created with the in-built functionalities of my ISP router. It is a "L2TP/IPSec PSK" type of VPN, and it's been working great in terms of speed and ping, since, as said, it's built in my router. This allows me to use all the home resources as I am (guess where?) home.

On the Win10 laptop, I have easily created a VPN profile using the Win10 network preferences, and connecting is nearly a 1-click.

Problem is, the Win10 Built-in VPN client functionality, does not have a kill switch, and all of a sudden gets disconnected and I am fully exposed but most importantly, the resources disconnect.

I would like to use a client that allows me to have a kill-switch functionality, so that, at the very least, I know I am disconnected from the home VPN. Any client that would allow me to do so?

Before anyone spots any security gap in this all setup, we are talking about me surfing using my in-laws wifi's or our 2nd house wifi, no internet cafe's wifi's.

    Thanks

    vpn

As already suggested, as a first step you need to find out what is VPN and if you need it or not.

After that you need to determine which VPN type you need for your tasks.

Then you need to check if VPN software is available for for your phone.

VPN software (VPN clients) for Nokia/Symbian phones.
