Windows 10: VPN

In our environment we are using SSTP vpn to connect domain network from public internet, once we are connected to the VPN , Active directory is unable to communicate because of this we are even unable to add user account into local administrator, but once VPN connected Nslookup resolves DC. dont know what could be the issue, please share the solution if anyone experienced this or aware of this issue.Thanks
