Windows 10: Vram,Gpu and performance issues for my laptop

I'm having a few issues with my GPU and Vram.My Vram is 128mb which is apparently the reason of my low performance on programs.Another one of my friends has a computer which has 2gb ram less than me but runs programs like games better than me because his Vram is 2040mb his gpu is integrated like my gpu.Is there anyway to change the amount of Vram?

Is it really possible to change default VRAM of GPU?

A Registry patch fix exists for Intel GPUs, but not for AMD.

I have not tried it (probably because Frogger is too high tech for me) but you can find it at https://www.thewindowsclub.com/increase-dedicated-video-ram-windows-10 which states in part:

Follow the below steps to reallocate RAM as VRAM for integrated Intel graphics cards.

Open Run and type regedit then navigate to the following path:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Intel

Right-click on the Intel folder. Choose New and click on Key. Name the key as GMM.

Select the new GMM folder on the left sidebar.

Right click on the right side of the Window and click on New from the drop-down menu.

Increase dedicated Video RAM in Windows 10

Choose the Dword (32-bit) and name it as DedicatedSegmentSize .

Double click on the DedicatedSegmentSize and click on the radio button with option Decimal to set the base to Decimal.

Enter the number of megabytes of RAM you want to allocate as VRAM in value data. Make sure you type a number within the range from 0 to 512.

Save to apply the changes.

Restart the system.

 

Is it really possible to change default VRAM of GPU?

I have a laptop with 1 GB VRAM GPU (4,5 GB Total) with an AMD Radeon HD 7610M GPU.

Can the amount of default VRAM on a GPU be changed if there is no option for that in BIOS/Firmware settings?

I have watched many videos but none of 'em did help me to make GTA 5 have more accessible memory.

If there is no option in BIOS on a laptop to change VRAM, can I do it in some other way?

 

having issues with multi GPU

I’m trying to offload certain apps to my iGPU on the second screen, using the new graphics settings in the recent win 10 release. the issue is it’s only showing my 1070. lists it as both power saving GPU, and
high performance GPU.

I’ve been fiddling for a while now with no joy, and i’m really hoping one of you guys has an idea they can suggest to sort this!

I can extend onto the second screen no probs with it plugged into the iGPU, but the 1070 is still listed as both power saving GPU and high performance GPU.

Are there requirements for this? certain level of iGPU for it to work?

Edit - setting the secondary screen connected to the iGPU to be the "main" display in graphics settings makes my iGPU show as both power saving and high performance GPU, I just can't seem to get them
to be one and not the other.
