Windows 10: VSS EventID 20

We have recently started getting the following on a Win Server 2022 :The shadow copies of volume E: were aborted because of a failed free space computation. There is currently 5TB Free space on the drive and trying to manually create shadow copies also returns and error: 0x080042306 I have been pointed to this article, 0x80042306 error occurs when configuring shadow copies for clustered mount points on another drive in Windows Server - Windows Server Microsoft Learn but it does not relate to our situation.I have also tried the following: vssadmin resize shadowstorage /For=E: /On=E: /MaxSize=

an in-place upgrade repair install which keeps all progs, data and most settings

Strollin: I understand your suggestion, but that means I'll have to re-install all my sofftware etc. again. This is not an enticing thought at all.

LCDR: I tried the old activation code I used before - it is the same on you posted.

I tried the steps listed at the WinAero site. Last one failed because it said the server could not be located. But I did get the Jan 20, 2016 date back. So that's something.

Hi, two repair utilities come to mind:

a. Tweaking.com's free cautious repair tool offers a number of repairs. One of them is VSS.
Just search for it: select only the repair you need, and follow the preparatory steps.
