Windows 10: W-Lan stick is loosing the connection with my usb-ports and reconnects again

Hey guys,

I hope my english is good enough to explain you my problem:



I´am using the Asus USB-AC56 wlan stick and I have the problem, that often (not always) the stick is loosing the usb connection to my usb ports. Then it reconnects again. Looses again, reconnects again... and so one..



I can fix this with de- and reactivating the network adapter. Then it work´s fine.

I also fixed the energysettings but the problem is still real.

All USB ports disconnect and reconnect sometimes?

Hi,

Thank you for contacting Microsoft Community. I understand that USB ports are disconnected and reconnected randomly.
I will surely help you to fix this issue.



This issue could have occurred due to these reasons:

1. USB drivers are corrupt.

2. USB port is not working.

3. Hardware issue.

Try the steps listed here:



Method 1:

Let's first run hardware troubleshooter and check.



a) Press “Windows Key + W”.

b) Type “Troubleshooting “in the search box and hit
Enter.

c) Click on Hardware and sound.

d) Click on Hardware and device and follow the on-screen instructions.



Method 2:

If the issue persists, I suggest you to uninstall and reinstall USB controllers from device manager and check if it helps.



a) Press Windows Key + R, type devmgmt.msc.

b) Expand the USB controllers, click on the drivers.

c) Click on properties, click on uninstall tab.

d) Click OK.



Note: Reboot the computer and it will automatically update drivers.

USB Port Oddities


Ok, let's see it with pictures step-by-step. First right-click on the USB device and select Update driver software:





Then select Browse my computer for driver software (LAST option) :





The select Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer (LAST option) :





Then select the standard driver from the list and click next:





Click next/OK as required to complete installation. Repeat the steps for all Intel USB devices. Finally click on each USB root device and press DEL to delete it, reply YES when asked. After deleting all USB root devices restart the computer.

LAN connecting/reconnecting

This may be a software fault, but my network connection will disconnect and almost immediately reconnect.

This can be really annoying when downloading something or talking over instant messenger. if there's anything anyone else has experienced or solved, i need some kind of resolve.
