    W10 build 14295

    Hi all,

I have W10 build 14291 in my laptop and try to upgrade to Build 14295 but it failed:
I'm in Insider Preview so I first go there to download the new Build. the download is O.K. but installation failed.
I then downloaded the ISO files, make it a bootable USB Key. Installation go well until it says your Computer will Restart Soon, after few seconds a little windows come up saying Installation Failed.
It's already happened with former build; it's always failed when upgrading from Insider, but when I downloaded the ISO files and installed it with a bootable USB key it's O.K. But this time it doesn't work out.

Thank you for your advice, if you got the same issue.

    My laptop : Toshiba Satellite P75 A 7200. Intel core I7 - 4700 QM - 16 gig Ram - 2 HD 1 for W7 and 1 for w10.

    :)

    W10 build 14295

new build 14316 now available - skip 14295?

Why does it fail to upgrade? BIOS setting problem ? Chkdsk /f ? Memtest ? Overheating ? Any 3rd party software incompatibility? What devices are attached? Check device Manager for problem device/driver? Failed hardware present e.g. optical drive, battery with low charge registered? Missing chipset drivers.

Does it fail to upgrade if clean-booted with msconfig ?

Thank you Fafhrd. I don't know why it fail to upgrade! it seems everything is O.K. I'll wait for build 14316 and see if it's O.K.

While you have a working system, I would investigate this, before it escalates to a problem where you find a real failure that will cause you a lot of grief.

Overheating is a common Laptop problem, with a variety of symptoms, and can be helped by blasting canned air (dustoff) through the fan outlet grille, but if there is a lot of lint and debris blocking the cooling system, the real remedy is to thoroughly clean the cooling airways, and this means dismantling the laptop.
