  1. [W10] Disk size keeps expanding out of nowhere

Hello,I need URGENT help regarding exceptionally bloated C: drive. Just a few hours ago 17 GB of space was available, but just now I spotted it's now less than 300 MB and it keeps getting less and less. I can't recognize the reason behind this all, I've run sfc/scannow but it didn't help, I've run a scan for malware and it also went into vain... what to do?

    :)

  3. Reduce disk size (Inspect SCSI )

Hi, I'm David an independent advisor and user just like you. I'll do my best to help you with this.

The answer is you have to reduce the size on BOTH sides.

Step 1) Within you virtual machine you need to go to Disk Management and reduce the size of the partition(s) on the drive you want to reduce - you want to end up with space left at the "end" of the virtual disk. This is the space you'll be able to recover.

Step 2) From your Hyper-V host you need to edit the virtual disk and use the Shrink option to reduce the size of the physical disk (as far as your VM is concerned it's a physical disk), and that would reduce the size of your virtual disk file on the host.

If you are increasing the size of the virtual disk then you do it the other way round - increase the size of the virtual disk on Hyper-V, then go to Disk Management inside your virtual machine and you'll find there's more space available to expand your virtual
    volume.

    Regards,

    David

Expand Recovery Partition and Enable Windows RE with MBR Disk

Thanks all for the help. The recovery environment is working correctly. I tried the ReagentC command boottore last night on the MBR system and the system did boot into the recovery environment. In regards to my original question on the sequence of steps, is it necessary to delete the expanded recovery partition first and then create the new one as suggested in the Microsoft instructions? I believe I just did the quick format and set ID=27 for the MBR disk.
