    w10 erratic random boot loading times


    Why is this? *Confused

    Booting from a pretty static (no new items added to startup), defragmented daily, OS partition on a mechanical SATA II hard disk it takes w10 some weird random bootup times. Sometimes it boots taking 35s and sometimes is taking 70s. Sometimes I get different numbers in the same day. I check them using a custom view for event viewer. This is driving me nuts. I remember that when I had w7, boot times, were pretty similar.

    There isn't to be a common pattern to this. It seems totally random.

    Any thoughts?

    W10 Boot fails but Reboots OK - every time

    Desktop, X64, working perfectly, updated to W10 from W7. When booting from cold the W10 logo appears but the 'spinning circle' starts then stops and doesn't load. I reboot and it loads ok and this happens every time I load from cold. I have checked that
    all my drivers are up to date so can only suspect the W10 upgrade. Can anyone please advise.

    Hi!

    Yes I was freezing and recovering. Then when booting got a W10 UEFI Bois boot error and kept restarting. Not exactly like yours but similar. But it affected the video drivers. Once I bypassed the UEFI Bios it booted. I also disabled fast boot in powers option
    and let it boot slow giving W10 time to load drivers. Then re-enabled fast boot.

    She is running now.
