W10 generic chipset drivers vs Intel very old ones

    Good day.

    A stupid question.

What's better?: Leave some chipset components drivers as default, as per w10 installation (generic LPC chipset, pci to pci brigde, etc) or install Intel chipset drivers even if those are very old (2013).

Thus, for instance, LPC driver becomes ICH8 LPC driver, and pci to pci bridge becomes ICH8 PCIe channel A (just an example).

I haven't noticed no differences at all whatsoever either by using the "generic" ones vs Intel's.

    Any ideas?

    :)

  2. How do you uninstall chipset drivers?

I'm installing a new mobo so I need to uninstall the intel 865g drivers to make way for the P35 drivers.

Can't find any uninstall options in add/remove programs and intel chipset inst listed in driver cleaner.

Any suggestions? *Confused W10 generic chipset drivers vs Intel very old ones

Drivers: What is the difference between ACPI for Windows 10 and Intel Chipset?

Someone suggested uninstalling ACPI and then reinstalling might fix a bug that is preventing my battery from charging in Windows 10. Another post seems to indicate that ACPI and Chipset Driver are the same thing, but it is not listed under Battery with ACPI
but under IDE ATA/ATAP controllers (whatever that is).

I have two versions of Chipset for Windows 10, one from Intel's site via Microsoft and one from Lenovo, my computer, and they are not the same size. I think the Intel is the one I installed. Should I try the Lenovo version and see if that solves my problem,
even though it doesn't seem to be directly related to energy management? I am so confused!

    Latest Intel Chipset Device Software

    Hi,

I use the same chipset and have no need for Intel Chipset drivers on my board since the latest W10 releases. W10 recognizes everything by itself.

Still, should you need it then this version should work for you :
