Windows 10: W10 network cannot access shared drives on other PC

I have a number of networked W10 PCs at home. I can access shared folders on each PC, but cannot access entire shared drives on each PC. Any ideas? I have done all the troubleshooting checks that are ever mentioned here and elsewhere, many times. I do not, and have never, run my PCs logged in to MS, preferring to run them all as local accounts. Could this be an issue? As background, I have run home networks since the late 1990s and have never had problems like this. I want to be able to access entire shared drives, rather than just its folders, for a number of reasons but especially to

Personally, I wouldnt use Everyone. If anyone hacks into you, they have full access to everything and can demolish everything on your raid. I would rather set up accounts and access separately for each person. That way, I know who did all that damage. In the end with a little extra work, I feel more secure by using Authenticated Users.

step 1 create non-microsoft account and without email and address without admin rights
step 2 share a drive or folder to specific user account (if Everyone is listed, remove it)
step 3 set security > add Authenticated Users (if more than 1 account) or add specific users
step 3a remove Everyone from list
step 3b uncheck full control and write for all items listed except SYSTEM and Admin account.
step 4 right click Start > Computer Management > System Tools > Shared Folders > Shares ... to verify settings and change anything else. You can also see the number of connections to each share here.

 

Cannot access shared network drive

Thanks a lot. I spent hours to understand why my W10 PC had access to my W7 PC, but W7 PC had no access to W10 PC in the workgroup environment. All sharing options were set to "everyone".
I did not realize that also in de Security tab the user "everyone" had to be defined. Thanks!

 

W7 access of W10 share

On my home network W10 systems can access shares on other W10 systems, and W10 can access W7 shares. However, when W7 tries to access a W10 share, it wants a network password. I give it the user/pswd I use to log in on the W10 but that doesn't help.

I found one place:

but that didn't seem to help.
