Windows 10: W10 OP SYSTEM OPINION

W10 SETTINGS. It’s a MAZE, not as in awe, but a large tall complex hedge puzzle that I don’t have time for.

I’ve read blogs etc on the Internet about users opinions of W10. And I find I echo their thoughts.

Like others I’ve read, my view is that I seem to have 2 options; I either return to W7 or I buy Linux.

Linux seem to respect what the user wants and doesn’t dictate, spy, advertise & generally ride over any preferences we may attempt. I understand the money reasons for the Microsoft ‘WHY’ W10 is what it is. But it is a gamble; the user has ultimate choice - AND WE do have other options. MS loss is Linuxs’ gain maybe.

Microsoft should be paying the User, as we Users, don’t OWN the device we’ve purchased. This was a real shock to me when I first pressed the button. What followed was frustration & fury. It doesn’t seem to matter how much you ‘turn off’, it still functions like we’re being attacked with malware.

FEEDBACK. Yr feedback system is incredibly laborious and takes up a lot of time for the users that some of us don’t bother. And as I understand it, it is thought by users that no ones’ reading it anyway.

Any good opinion on W10?

Months ago I downgraded from W10 back to W8.1 after a very hard time dealing with W10.

I said to myself let´s wait for all bugs get fixed to try it again.

Today I was checking the status, and apparently the situation is the same.

Does any one have good opinion about W10?

Wait, but have you done the whole step-by-step guide described in the OP? DDL/DTS isn't supported natively by Windows 8/8.1 either, unless if you do the steps listed there.

 

Lost default photo viewer after profile rebuild

Thanks Brink. I've tried those steps before i started searching Google. After the profile rebuild i don't have the Photo app listed to choose to make it default in either the system settings for default apps or the Open With option.

I can't even find it doing a search. Seems to have been removed somehow with the profile rebuild, which doesn't make sense.

Might be helpful to list what i've done I've done the open with check, the choose default program in the system menu, tried that in device manager default programs also. I've checked the programs and features Turn windows features on/off and it's not listed there (never thought it was but that was a suggestion), searched the MS Store, it's not listed there either.

I don't like playing in the registry unless i have defined steps and haven't found anything for this yet, just the Win7 version like in my OP.
