Hi, this is a long ongoing issue. I am not very IT literate but I have had ad hoc support from friends who have advised on the actions listed below but nothing has worked. I also took the PC in to a repair shop that ran benchmark tests and couldn't replicate the issue so couldn't help much. Hi, this is a long ongoing issue. I am not very IT literate but I have had ad hoc support from friends who have advised on the actions listed below but nothing has worked. I also took the PC in to a repair shop that ran benchmark tests and couldn't replicate the issue so couldn't help much. Her is a breakdown in chronological order.

Operating system: Windows 11 pro

Graphics card: Palit GeForce RTX 3060 Dual 12GB

PSU: Corsair 750

about 3 months ago I swapped my graphics card from an Nvidia 1090 to a 2060. it worked fine for a few weeks of occasional play but then my PC started restarting itself when playing games like Satisfactory, V Rising, and Warhammer Total War. Both monitors go black and it restarts almost instantly. This started after a few hours of play but got quicker and quicker till it's almost instant as soon as the game loads in. i can still play very old games like Command and Conquer 2 without issue however.

In addition around the same time I started having an occasional issue with my desktop background image. It will quite often load in black but I can still see the desktop icons as normal. When I hover over the icons it reveals a square of my background around the icon.

I tried:

Taking out the graphics card and putting it back in again

Scanned for virus with Windows virus scan

Changed power settings and disabled windows auto restart feature

Used Nvidia's app to reinstall graphics driver.

Manually uninstalled graphics driver and reinstalled directly from their website

Checked on overheating but no issues found

Run the Windows built in memory diagnostic but no issues.

Tried multiple power power sockets around the house

I installed a new graphics card (RTX 3060) and am still having the exact same issue.

I also tried a few other bits along the way but can't quite remember. I've also done most of the above multiple times. Bizarrely, i came back to the issue a few months ago and noticed a new graphics driver was available. I used the Nvidia app to reinstall the new driver and ended up getting a good few hours of gaming. I thought the issue was resolved till I went to resume my game the next morning and the issue started up again. had the same thing when I installed the new card. it was fine for an evening and then stopped working the next day.

This has been going on for months and nobody can work out the issue. If anyone has anything else I can try then please do make suggestions. I appreciate your time in reading this far. Happy to answer any further questions so long as they are not too technical!

I've gone through the steps you have recommended but when I get the list of available drivers I only have 2 in the list. Any further suggestions from the below?

Did you check the game compatibility with Windows 10?

I would suggest you to go through the below steps:

Steps: Try to run the program in compatibility mode:

• 
  Right click on the game icon through which you launch the game.
  
• 
  Click on properties.
  
• 
  Click on compatibility tab.
  
• 
  Check the box, run this program in compatibility mode and select the previous operating system.
  
• 
  Click on apply and then ok.
