    W10 Pro Virus and Threat protection "Disabled by IT"


    Alright, heres the deal, I'm trying to gain access to the Virus and Threat protection page.Virus and threat protection are "not available" because my "IT administrator has limited access to some areas of this app". I have: Used powershell in admin with "Set-MpPreference -UILockdown 0".Edited the group policy "Hide the virus and threat protection area" in "Administrative Templates/Windows Components/Windows Security/Virus and threat protection" to "disabled" from "Not configured, even though it should be the same setting.Added the "UILockdown" key to "Hkey_Local_Machine\Software\Micro

    Virus and threat protection has stopped and will not restart, Windows 10 ver 1709, antimalware client ver 4.12.16299.15 . SuperAntiSpyware installed.

    I have tried most of the suggestions from the support pages, all have been ineffective. Any suggestions

    Virus & Threat Protection

    There are some applications that are not yet compatible Control Folder Access. It is intended to block Ransomware. Until third party apps catch up, the best you can do is to disable it.

    Open Windows Defender Security Center

    Click Virus & threat protection

    Click Virus & threat protection settings

    Scroll down to Controlled folder access

    Toggle it off
