Windows 10: w10 stopped previewing TEXT files!

I didn't change a thing in file explorer, but the preview feature does not even work on text files. An answered posted years ago to the same issue said, "click preview pane box, and click/tap on OK." This pane does not exist.


What happened?

Using File explorer can stop given preview

I suggest you to follow the steps provided below and check if it helps.

• Open File Explorer.
• Click on View.
• Click on Preview pane.

If the issue still persists,

• Open File explorer.
• Click on View.
• Click on Folder options.
• Under View tab, check the option for Always show icons, never thumbnails.
• Click on Apply and OK.

Delete and Cut Files with Preview Pane Open

• Have you tried to delete the pdf file in preview panel?
• What exactly happens when try to delete the pdf file?

I suggest you to follow the steps below and check if it helps.

• 
  Open File Explorer.
  
• 
  Select View and click on preview panel.
  
• 
  Select the pdf file.
  
• 
  At the right corner you will be able to see preview panel.
  
• 
  You can right click on it and delete the files.
