Windows 10: W10 update / Microsoft - WPD - 2/22/2016 12:00:00 AM - 5.2.5326.4762

Tnx Brink *Smile By the way, Windows didn't find any update. Isn't this update for everyone? Or maybe iPhone use other drivers so my system doesn't update these wdp drivers...

 

I discover that the update started when I connect an external harddrive on the front usb of my pc, as I told earlyer I had some problems with the usb drivers of my MSI motherboard with Win 8 - 10 after this update the work fine. Also I try to connect some portable's like a Samsung tablet and a Huawei phone and this works fine too. So my conclusion this updates comes when it is needed for connecting hardware, so not everyone will get it, for me it works great.

@Brink, your instructions were a godsend, although the sequence I had to follow was the same as that outlined by @RogerH1

Now I see my phone again.

 

I am surprised that the Internet is not already at Microsofts throat for screwing up again.

I bet the update installed on millions of systems yesterday, on most of them without the users even noticing and most users don't connect their phones every day.

Tech interested people who visit forums like this will be able to fix the problem easily but I doubt the standard user will be able to do so when they will run into this problem in the near future.

This is the typical "I did not change anything before it happened" or "It worked fine a week ago" situation that everybody in tech support hates so much *Wink

 

This update showed up on 1 of my PC's yesterday but when it ask me to install it I just ignored it and today it is gone and I have no record of it being installed.
I checked WU today on my 3 systems and it is not offered anymore.

My Lumina Icon still works so I assume this update was pulled.

I checked Device Manager and here is what I have for my phone under Portable Devices and under Universal Serial Bus Devices.

I was to positive about this update in my early writings, there are connection problems with some camera's Gopro Hero models and Sony camera's will not connect, also not with install of the MTP USB Device. So I rollback my system to have it without the update. My question to you are, did you get the update after you connect a device to your usb port ? I get it when I connect an old external drive to a usb port.

This is a MUST READ to clean it from your system.

I was lucky and it was pulled before I tried to install it.

Hi all. My first post! I am at my wits end-not the only one it seems? I have the infamous wpd microsoft update 2/22/2016 installed and nothing usb will connect .I have tried all the solutions but nothing works. Cannot connect my mp3 player ,satnav etc via usb. Not much of a tech guy. Help! David.

 

This sounds different to the other problems where it only affected phones attached to PC's.
