Windows 10: W10 update wabnts space which isn't available

Okay,


why are MS and the laptop manufacturers not talking to one another?


Brand new ACER Aspire, 32gb drive installed and at this moment at W10 Pro 1709 build 16299.1451 which it managed to update to without too much issue.


Now Update wants to go to the next level....... 1803 x64 2019-08C yes not even the very latest, and will it do it?


silly bl**dy question, of course not!


It needs more space on the hard drive.


I have moved what user files I can from the drive , I have cleaned every .tmp file I can find , I have run numerous fix issues, clean ups etc, you name it I have done it.


I have checked storage, If this was any cleaner it would squeak.


But it still insists that before it will used the attached usb stick's storage it needs to more free space on the laptops drive, that varies between lowest achieved 88mb to at moment 124mb needed.

Which I cannot see how I can achieve without stripping out a lot of loaded apps, not games et


My wife's small Acer ran into the same problem and after a number of attempts and following suggestions it is now a frisby as it refuses to even boot. I would prefer not to follow that route with a machine I have had for four weeks


Any suggestions?

Printer isn´t working after latest update.

After the latest update from Windows, my Canon Pixma ip6600 printer isnt working. In Device Manager it shows up as working properly but when I go to print it isn´t listed as an option in any programs. Troubleshoot suggests it´s a USB 2 printer on a USB
3 port and that that´s the problem but that cant be since it worked fine before the update. I´ve tried to uninstall and plug it back in but that doesn´t work either.

Managed to solve it... here´s how I did it just in case anyone else has the same problem...

->Settings

->Printers & scanners

->Add a printer or scanner

->The printer that I want isn´t listed

->Add a local printer or network printer with manual settings

->Use an existing port: USB001 (Virtual printer port for USB)

->Choose printer

->Use the driver that is currently installed

->Type printer name

And done... =P

 

Cortana isn´t working

When I hit enter, it did something, but there´s still no Cortana, even after restart. So I tried it again, but now it says that it failed, because it´s already installed and it´s working in PC. So it should work, but Cortana still isn´t here.
