Windows 10: w10 updates KB4505903 and KB4512508 stuck on account of error code 0x80071ab1

Once earlier, my w10 updates was stuck so I had posted this thread:Windows 10 update: April 2, 2019—KB4490481 (OS Build 17763.404) failed to install - 0x80071ab1 & 0x8024000b


I was told there that 0x80071ab1 error code relates to insufficient disk space, though there is some 60GB free space in disk.


It was also told that windows is not able to create error logs for some reasons.

All my logs are set to automatically release old entries, so I wonder what is stopping windows from deleting old entries in log files.


Then, I found a script on net to delete all windows logs, ran that.


After that, not that particular update, but next KB duly installed, so I thought the problem has been rectified.


but it struck again.


Now running that ClearLogs Scripts clears all except the following


Failed to clear log Intel-SST-CFD-HDA/IntelSST.
The instance name passed was not recognized as valid by a WMI data provider.
Failed to clear log Microsoft-Windows-LiveId/Analytic.
Access is denied.
Failed to clear log Microsoft-Windows-LiveId/Operational.
Access is denied.
Failed to clear log Microsoft-Windows-USBVideo/Analytic.
The instance name passed was not recognized as valid by a WMI data provider.


I wonder why the above is not getting cleared, and how can I delete it manually?

I don't understand what is TOPS and why it is so high and how can I clear it?

And also whether the above tells the learned ones if something is wrong.


I think it is not problem with troubleshooting of windows update, but related to some log clearing problem.

Please advise what can I do?

Remove account


I suggest you backup your personalized files first before removing the account.
To delete an account, follow these steps:

1. Press WIN + X keys and click Command Prompt (Admin) from the menu.
2. Type the following command and press Enter. Replace test with the name of your sister's account. Code:

update failure KB4505903

I have the same problem but with other error: KB4505903 will not install. It downloads but then it gives a 0x800f0982 error. Same short stall at 73-74%. Also did try a manual install but that fails to: no error just the mention that it is not installed.

Did some searching and see more mentions of KB4505903 failing. See for example Windows 10 desktop stops responding after KB4505903 install but also mentions on Reddit
and so on.
