Hi guysI recently replaced my hard drive with a SSD and used a clean install on Windows 10 via flash drive / recovery media. All has gone fine, except when I try and log on to my VPN I get the error: The L2TP connection attempt failed because the security layer encountered a processing error during the initial negotiations with the remote computer. I had previously seen this error on my L2TP connected Cisco Meraki VPN, to solve this I uninstalled a Security Update for Microsoft Windows KB5009543 which caused the problem. However, as I have a fresh install of Windows 10 I don't have a separat

Connecting Windows 10 VPN to Draytek routers on numerous sites all returns the same error. Sometimes a reboot works, sometimes it doesn't. Have followed all steps in the similar message (The L2TP connection attempt failed because the security layer encountered a processing error during the initial negotiations with the remote computer), but this error of mine is "security policy not found". Where is the security policy and why does it have a problem finding it sometimes??

L2TP vpn connection impossible since the patches of Tuesday 01/11/2022.

Since yesterday's update for W10 (KB5009543) and W11 (KB5009566), our VPN connection to our Peplink Balance One Core 8.1.3.
does not work anymore.

Here is the message: "The l2tp connection attempt failed because the security layer encountered a processing error during initial negotiations with the remote computer".
By uninstalling these KB, there is no more problem.

Our VPN connection is L2PT with pre-shared key, etc.
We did not touch anything on our computers.
