    W11 does not recognize old audio CDA disc.


    W11 using Rioddas external DVD player does not recognize old audio CDA disc. File Explorer does not read the disc. All W11 drivers are up to date. I downloaded / installed VLC Player and it cannot see the disc. Everything works fine with MP3 based files. WMP does not see the CD.It suggest that either Rioddas player does not support CDA disc legacy audio or W11 is missing some type of driver.Please help.

    I thought of that. I just replaced the DVD/CD drive with a spare and nothing changed. .cda files are still not recognized. I also did a repair reinstall of Windows 10 keeping apps and files. Nothing changed. I don't see how it could be a bad motherboard sata port or cable as the drive will let me extract audio files to programs like EAC, plus it works fine for DVDs and Blu-rays.

    Device Manager says it is working properly. I guess the only option left is to do a clean re-install of Windows. It's apparently a problem unique to my pc.

    MP3 to CDA download?

    the only use for .cda files is on a audio cd. any song burner will convert it to cda and throw it onto a disc. itunes, wmp, winamp, etc.

    I use Media Player Classic - Home Cinema to play my music CD & DVDs.
    But I have to click File then Open Disc to play them.
