Windows 10: W11 MS Clock app expecting school or work account

This problem doesn't cause me any issues, but I thought I'd ask if there's a way to fix it - it's just something that shouldn't happen IMHO.I have a Surface Pro 8 device running Windows 11 Home. It happily logs into my personal outlook.com account for Microsoft 365 & in other places, but if I click on the Manage button in the Clock app, it tells me I cannot sign in here .....The URL it goes to starts with https://login.microsoftonline.com/common/oauth2/v2.0/authorize?client_id= followed by a long string of characters.I can log in to Manage my account through others means e.g. throug

The clock app from ms keep asking me to log into ms account when I open it

Continue: The prompt stop, and I can use the clock without any account login.

Sign out: Bring me to the ms account login prompt: choosing between , Normal Ms account, or professionnal/school ms account. Then the prompt for login.

Since a few days, the Clock app opens a login prompt every single time it's opened. Any way to permanently disable that without logging in?) with the same disastrous effect

I have a same problem on another computer on w10 that I didnt update since 2019. How the clock updated itself alone (especially being this buggy) is beyond me.

Dave Grochocky the lead on the update seems very proud of his " focus session" update in August last year (

New Clock app for Windows 11 with Focus Sessions rolling out to Windows Insiders) Which was rolled for every user a few month back.

But no info on the "always buggy login" prompt from him

 

Removing Work or School Account Deletes Data or Not?

Open the Settings App.

Go to Accounts.

Select Your Info, is the school Email listed there?

Select Emails and Accounts, is the school Email listed there?

Select Access Work or School, is the school Email listed there?

You should not have to sign into the Clock if you sign in with a Work or School Account, it should already be signed into clock and most all other Apps with the same account.

But be aware that if you use a School or Work account on your personal PC, it will take over with the organization's Group Policy. For this reason I would make sure it's a separate account, or even install a separate copy of WIndows on another partition you create to handle the Work or School account so it doesn't take over your personal account with restrictive Group Policy.
