Windows 10: W11 - Saving Programme and Files to Specified Locations

I've installed a boating app - the Dutch ANWB Waterkaarten - and there is no custom option to specify file location. So I installed it and the programme was installed on C drive in Programmes and User data folders.I uninstalled the app and changed the Windows default file locations in Windows settings as I would like the programme to install in a partitioned drive. The app includes mapping data which can be around 3GB.With the locations changed, the app still installed on the C drive, exactly as before.I assume I need to dig further into the registry to change some settings??So, hopefully so

Making HDD as default saving location instead of sdd for files

  Open System and click on
  Storage in the left-pane.

  Under the section Save Locations in the
  right-pane, select the appropriate location to which you want to save files.

  Restart the computer and check if it helps.

  How are you accessing emails through web browser or through a mail client (mail app, outlook 2010/2013)?

  Are you trying to save the email attached file? Please elaborate.
  

If you are using Outlook email, let’s try simple steps and check if it helps. Try the below steps provided.

Step 1.

If you want to save only the attached file from the email, try the below step.

• 
  Right click on the attached file and click on Save as.
  
• 
  Now select a folder location where you want to save the attached file.
  

Step 2.

If you want to save the file along with the email try the below steps provided.

• 
  Open the mail you want to save and click on File on the top of the right side.
  
• 
  Click on Save As and select a folder location where you want to save the email.

Default location to save documenets

Sorry for the delayed response.

From your recent description, it seems like the issue is confined to Word documents. If true, then follow the steps below and check if it helps.

• Launch Word application.
• Go to File Menu and select Options.
• In the pop-up dialog box, towards the left pane, select Save.
• Under Default location file, browse the location you want to save.
• Check if the issue persists.
