Windows 10: WaasMedicAgent 100% Disk help

The Windows service called WaasMedicAgent is using 100% of the Disk on my computer and I need help with finding a fix.

I’ve been doing some research and I’m not the only one dealing with this problem recently in the past year, with more discussions of it recently. The software is apparently supposed to fix “broken and or corrupted” windows update files, maybe even just assisting with the updating process.

But instead it uses 100% of my disk every time a windows service requires an update until I’ve finished the update.

There’s no way all my all my updates are coming in corrupted or broken and the high disk usage makes those required updates almost impossible to install. Actually it makes doing pretty much anything on my pc impossible.

I would stop the service altogether but it’s a main windows service which I would need to jump through some hoops with external software to stop, and could possibly cause problems to my PC in the future.

Windows 10 Home

Windows Feature Experience Pack 120.2212.551.0

Clean install, disk usage at 100%

I've seen that article. and I am in fact not running that driver. I followed the steps and it does not appear in the list.

100% disk usage

The most common cause of 100% disk usage appears to be Superfetch and Prefetch, but there are also other causes. You can try disabling both these features and see if it helps.
