Windows 10: WaaSMedicSvc - failed to read description - Error Code 2

Hello All,I'm hoping someone can tell me if I have to be worried about this / endangered updates, or if I can ignore it.In case of th former ... how to fix it?When I got there in Services, first it was stopped. I started it but the error note remained, even after reboot.I already ran update troubleshooter and SFC and Dism ... with no change.BTW- updates function normally, just sometimes seems to take a long time checking.On my personal machine at home / identical ... same thing.Win11 Pro, latest version and updates, 23H2Any information is highly appreciated.Thanks

waaSMedicSvc failed to read descripton error code 2

The description for WaaSMedicSVC in services reads <failed to read description error code 2 and windows/microsoft update 9MSSGKG348SP keeps failing.

Thank you Derrick but I have already tried this option and it didn't work. I checked it this morning and stringcachegeneration is set to 38b and waasmedicsvc still says failed to read description error code 2 after restart.

 

I have read & tried ALL the ways given to correct error 2 for Waas Medic but none help. How do I correct Error 2, failed to read description to get Waas Medic operating?

Do I click onto Description and change it to read: Enable remediation and protection of Windows Update Components

Yes.

And do I click onto Display (on the right side) and change it to the following: Windows Update Medic Service?

Yes.
