  1. Waited more than 24 hours for a mistyped password and still cannot login

Hello there,A friend of mine has a computer with a single login method: MS account password. The password was mistyped because of a mismatch with an uppercase letter, and Windows says we need to wait for 2 hours before being able to login. However, the PC was up for more than 2 hours it goes into sleep mode after a certain period of time of course. We still cannot log into the account. What I've tried so far:Got into CMD maj + PC restart in order to change the amount of maximum password attempts using net accounts,Tried with another session password-locked as well,Tried "forgot password",

    :)

I had my administrator user password changed on login.live.com (micosoft) . Now when I go back to the PC machine, it will not take the new password nor the old password. I have a case# with microsoft support. They told me to wait 24 hours for their
server to sync with my new password. I have windows 8.1 Is this true waiting 24 hours???

  3. Password issue

After going through the steps to make a new password, after a week or two, my login credentials are no longer valid. I'm forced to make a new password all over again. It seems to happen if I don't login in a certain period of time. Does our passwords expire???

    Hi Sandra,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

To change the time format from 12 hour to 24 hour in Windows 10.

    Follow the steps:

    • Navigate to Control panel.
    • In the category view of the control panel, click on the
‘Change date, time, or number formats’.
    • Change the short time to HH:mm from the drop down.
