Windows 10: Waketimer is keeping Win10 Laptop from going to sleep or shutting down

My laptop recently got beat up computer bag fell out of back of hotel van and I think it was in the middle of a Windows 10 update. When I first tried to start it after the fall, it gave a hard disk error. I took the laptop apart and checked everything over. I pulled the HD and physically re-installed it into the machine.Now, the laptop starts and boots properly, but when I try to put the machine to sleep or when I try to shut the machine down using Win10 prompts - the machine wakes up again, immediately.I pulled the machine waketimers and got this:It looks like the expiration date got cor

Laptop keeps going to sleep


I have an HP 8540 laptop. I have the power settings set to high performance and all the options to go to sleep when plugged in are set to off/no.
HOWEVER, it keeps going to sleep even when things like a download is running. There r a few things like my 3D printer program that will keep it awake. I did however have it go to sleep a couple of times during a print and I changed something (I forgot what it was) and it stopped doing that but not for other things and not in general. When plugged in I do not want it to go to sleep unless I press my power button. I don't have a sleep button, but that is also set to no sleep.

It does not go to sleep if I am actively using the mouse and/or kbd.

I had HP power assist running but I shut that down and it still goes to sleep.
everything is up to date.

Why?????? and what to do???????

powercfg does not tell me much: /lastwake: Wake History Count - 0
/waketimers: There are no active wake timers in the system.

Plus: my problem is not that the system wakes up, but that it goes to sleep even when I set everything I can think of to not going to sleep.

PC will not sleep due to Scheduled Waketimer StartMenuExperienceHost.exe

My PC will not longer sleep or stay asleep. When I run the powercfg /waketimers command from the Command Prompt, I get thte following result:

How do I deactivate this waketimer, or at least run it so it will clear and sleep again? THanks for your kind assistance.
