    Waking up PC when lid closed only works when PC never shuts off or sleeps


    I can wake up my Samsung Notebook with the lid closed with my USB mouse or USB keyboard when I have the settings to "never shut the PC off" and "never sleep", but I don't want to leave the PC on all the time.


    I have heard of different sleep states such as S0 S1 etc.


    Is there a way, the PC can still turn off or go to sleep and I can still wake it up when the lid is closed?


    Otherwise, I have to keep opening the lid in order to wake it up or leave it running all the time.

    Hello,
    I've got a problem (or a feature ? Not so sure) that when I finish my work, I shutting down my laptop, while waiting it to be shut down, I close the lid.
    The problem is when I close the lid, the laptop go into sleep mode, and when I back to work, I open the lid to press the power button and it resume the 'shut down' process.
    This hasn't happen before, any suggestion ? Many thanks Waking up PC when lid closed only works when PC never shuts off or sleeps :)

    Wake on Lan (WOL) does not work when the lid is closed

    I met problem when configuring wake on lan. After enabling wake on lan in BIOS and in network adapter settings, I was able to wake my computer from sleep. But the problem is my laptop won't wake up when the lid is closed. That is to say:

    1. When I manually sleep my computer via "Start -> Power -> Sleep" button (thus the lid is not closed), I can successfully wake my computer on lan.
    2. When I closed the lid to let computer go to sleep, I can't wake up the computer.
    3. When I sleep the computer as in 1 and then close the lid, I still cannot wake my computer.
    I have tried several method, including disabling the quickstart, disabling hybrid sleep, turning off Link State Power Management, disable power saving policy in adapter settings and etc.... But they all make no effect.

    The Windows version is Windows 10 1809

    The Network Adapter is made by Realtek

    Laptop wakes up when closing the lid

    Windows 10. Power options set to "do nothing' when lid closed with battery and plugged in both. I put it to sleep manually, close the lid and it seems it wakes up because battery drained after 5/6 hours if being kept in the bag. So I test it by putting to
    sleep, closing the lid and opening.. it is back on. I would like it to really not do anything when closing or opening the lid. TIA.
