  2. why cant i get 1366 x 768 resolution

    Hi Robert,

The reason why you are not able to get 1366 X 768 resolution setting is because of outdated display driver or corrupt display driver. Please write to us with the following details.

    1) What is the make and model of your computer?

    2) Did you make any changes to the display setting prior to this issue?

I suggest you to make sure that you have installed all the latest Windows updates and display driver from the manufacturer's website. In order to do this follow the steps given below.

Go to the manufacturer's website and download the latest display driver from the website. Then follow the steps given below to uninstall the Display Driver.

    a) Press Windows Key + X key, click on Device
    Manager.

    b) Search for Display Adapter, right click on it and then
    uninstall it.

Now install the display driver and check if it helps you. Get back to us with the status of the issue.

1366 x 768 Screen Resolution Not Available in Win 10

I'll apologize in advance if this is answered elsewhere here, but I couldn't find it.

I just installed a new hard drive and the techs suggested it was a good idea to put fresh Windows 10 on it. (It was originally W7, later upgraded to 8 and then 8.1.

I'm generally impressed with the new OS except that it does not offer 1366 x 768 resolution, which is what my monitor wants. Is there anything I can do besides:

    (1) buying a new monitor to replace a perfectly good one;

    (2) Reverting to 8.1; or

    (3) living with the various forms of distortion with the options provided?

I've looked online to see if there is a driver for this available, but can't find one.

Thanks in advance if anyone can help!

1366 x 768 Screen Resolution Not Available in Win 10

First, thank you for your reply. The weekend was busy so I just finally got around to the problem again.

My native resolution (1366 X 768) is definitely not on the list to choose from.

It took a while, but I finally found my device manager and, sure enough, it is shown as "Microsoft Basic Display Adapter."

When the problem first surfaced, I suspected a driver problem, so went to a site that said it would check and update any drivers for Windows 10. It checked and said all my drivers were up-to-date.

How do I get the correct driver for the monitor? I went to the manufacturer's site (Asus) but it appears this model is no longer supported. I looked through my huge pile of CD's that came with my various bits of hardware, including many I don't even have any more, but can't find anything related to the monitor.

    Thanks again.
