Windows 10: Want to Downgrade to Windows 10 without losing files

My touchpad is really not working good with windows 11 and often starts malfunctioning, I want to downgrade to Windows 10 without losing my files. It has been more than 6 months since I upgraded to Windows 11. Almost all my apps and files are on a second hard drive while windows is installed on the main ssd. If i downgrade to windows 10, will my files still be there.

Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

Downgrade from Windows 11 to Windows 10

Ok so when you click on the "Go Back" it will downgrade to Windows 10. I highly suggest you to do a clean install of Windows 10 because sometimes , the "Go Back" option can bring some damaged files etc... so a clean install will make the pc faster and you will have a new copy of Windows :

Make sur you have a license !

So here are the steps :

1. Go to Download Windows 10 (microsoft.com)

2. Download the media creation tool

3. Follow the steps

IMPORTANT : MAKE SURE ALL YOUR DATA IS BACKED UP!!

Either when you click on "Go Back" or you downgrade as I showed you before , you will lose everything in your pc since your drive will be wiped and windows 10 will be re-installed

There is an option in the installer that lets you keep apps and files , but I highly don't recommend it .

So yes , you will have to re-install all the enterprise apps and the client-versions of the apps I listed before. Same for the microsoft Office.

I would try these:

• Get your Windows 7 media device and reinstall Windows
• Try auto-repair
• Follow these steps:

1. Put in your Windows 10 media device, boot into the USB
2. Select your language and keyboard input, then click next.
3. Click "Repair this computer"
4. Go to "Advanced options"
5. click system restore
6. Select a restore point before you downgraded to Windows 7.
