    I WANT KNOW IF I AM USING A VALID COPY OF WINDOWS 10 PRO. I WAS RECENTLY ATTACKED BY A RANSOMWARE (.DATAWAIT) AND PERFORMED A COMPLETE RESET USING TROUBLESHOOT AND ALL DRIVE. BEFORE THAT MY WINDOWS WAS SAYING ACTIVATE WINDOWS BUT AFTER THE RESET IT IS SHOWING WINDOWS ACTIVATED USING YOUR ORGANISATIONS ACTIVATION SERVICE . I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO NOW? I SEARCHED ON INTERNET AND CAME UP WITH THAT A MICROSOFT AGENT WILL PROVIDE A CODE FOR RUNNING DIAGNOSTIC TOOL. HELP ME WITH THAT.

    No one can even be entirely sure they are being validated right now. But if he is doing windows updates im willing to bet its not illegal.

    Not so sure about the valid key part. I have a friend that has a questionable copy of Windows 7 that has got the popup, and reserved windows 10. However no one I know with a valid copy of windows 7 has gotten it.

    Which is good news actually, because Windows 8.1 is loads cheaper than previous versions (retail licensing at Windows 7 OEM prices). And it sort of puts a huge hole in the Windows subscription theory.
