    Want to use Office 97 on W10... VBE can't install


    Hi.
    I don't have the money to buy the latest Office suite, so I tried with an old Office 97 of mine. What I need, is the ability to write record simple macros... A feat LibreOffice is still unable to do.
    Here's the error notice I have: "setup coulnd't create a SYSTEM.MDW file. After setup is completed reboot, then run your workgroup administrator, before you run this application (-1011)"
    Then I get "vbe.dll was unable to register itself in the system registry."
    I tried every compatibility mode, to no avail.
    Word is installed and fine, save for the macros, which is the component I need the most.

    office 97 instal

    I have an old copy of office 97 professional edition. When I initially tried to install it on Windows10 computer, a dialog box came up asking which programs i wanted to install(word, excel, etc.). Going back and forth thinking about what i should
    install (removing disc then later inserting again), i got to a point where this dialog box no longer comes up. Is there anyway to get the office products choices box to come up again.

    Office 97 works just fine on Windows 10 64 bit here.

    No need to use compatibility mode.
