    Warning - Fake Windows Defender warning


    Whilst browsing a what looked like a bona fida Windows Defender warning appeared on full screen, stating I needed to do an immediate scan with link provided, as there were three serious infections on my computer.

    I immediately closed all open apps, did scans with Defender and Mbam, both stating clean....did think about doing a print screen prior to closing down, but decided not to take a risk.

    I cannot over emphasise how authentic this warning appeared including M$ logo.

    Fake virus warning.

    Why didn’t Windows 10 defender protect my computer from the fake virus warning? Two hard drives toast in two months! What good is Windows defender if it don’t work?! Pissed off! Is there something I am missing here? It’s too late to close the barn door
    after the horse is out!I can’t get into my computer to do anything to remove it or restore it to earlier point. It stops at sign in screen. Who will pay for me to have my unit fixed?!

    Is it fake virus warning?

    A window popped up saying my computer is affected by 3 virus and will be damaged in 2 minus if I don't click on "continue". I looked like a common Microsoft website. Is it a fake virus warning?
