    explorer.exe will not run other than in safe mode


    MS suggests:
    Once your PC is in Safe Mode, reinstall your display adapter driver.


    • Type device manager into the search box on the taskbar, and then select Device Manager.
    • Expand Display adapter.
    • Right-click the display adapter and select Uninstall > OK.
    • Restart your PC.

    Hi {Englund},

    Thank you for updating me with that information. If that didn't work, can you try to access the system configuration in safe mode? Please follow these steps.

    1. Press Windows key + r , then type msconfig . Press Enter.

    2. Select the Boot tab then uncheck the Safe Boot.

    3. Click Apply then OK

    4. Restart your computer.

    Boot into Safe Mode on Windows 10  


    I am stuck in Safe Mode in spite of following all the suggested steps to go back to Normal Startup - Like opening file location of msconfig.exe & running as Administrator. The computer I am trying to get out of safe mode has just been updated from Windows 7.
