I have had this issue for a a year now with no solution working.First of all, I play on a laptop so I'm not able to change keyboards. For whatever reason, both my arrow keys and WASD keys continue inputting for several seconds after releasing the key. For example, I hold down "A" to walk left. Once I let go of "A", my character keeps walking left for a full second or two. The same thing happens with my arrow keys.It is as if Sticky Keys are on... but they are not. It is clearly off, and the glitch persists.Strangely, this glitch only occurs in games- scrolling in browsers and usi

  2. [SOLVED] WASD and arrow keys cause "drift" and "sliding" only in games, as if Sticky Keys was on

EDIT: PLEASE do not delete this thread. I have been completely unable to find this solution anywhere else after searching for a full three days. To my knowledge, no other thread has this information posted.

    ------

I have had this issue for a week now with no solution working.

For whatever reason, both my arrow keys and WASD keys continue inputting for several seconds after releasing the key. For example, I hold down "A" to walk left. Once I let go of "A", my character keeps walking left for a full second or two. The same thing happens with my arrow keys.

It is as if Sticky Keys are on... but they are not. It is clearly off, and the glitch persists.

Strangely, this glitch only occurs in games- scrolling in browsers and using the letters "WASD" in a document does not cause duplicates or any weird behavior.

    Things I have tried:

    - Restarting my computer several times

    - Disabling Sticky Keys, Toggle Keys, and Filter Keys, and disabling their shortcuts.

    - PowerShell commands (SFC /scannow, DISM etc.)

    - Editing registry flags to cripple Sticky Keys even further

    - Uninstalling and updating keyboard drivers

    - Spamming every possible key combination involving Control, Shift, FN, Number Pad, Alt, Tab, and the Windows key

    - Troubleshooting in the Repair Environment

    - System Restore. The glitch returned hours later.

    - A full and complete factory reset. Wiped everything (had a backup drive). The glitch returned hours later.

    --------

EDIT: I finally solved it! Using "FN" and spamming the left and right arrow keys fixed it! I have a keyboard with multicolor lights that are controlled by that shortcut. I tested using FN + right arrow in a game and it replicated the glitchy drifting behavior. Just had to press FN + left arrow a couple times and my movement was normal again.

  3. [WASD] keys switched with [ARROW] keys: Keyboard Problem

My keyboard is messed up. For example: To type [A] I have to press the left arrow key. And on games, instead of [WASD] I have to use the arrow keys. My [WASD] keys are switched around with the arrow keys. Typing is a lot more difficult because of it. Can
    you help please?
