Windows 10: Watch thread and integrated Camera Driver

I keep getting an error message that says "watch thread" is preventing my computer from closing/restarting, but I cannot find any apps or any tasks in my task manager with this name. I have looked at other responses in the community and tried the recommendations but without luck. Does any one know how do I remove it?


I have a Samsung NP300E5A-A01DX with an integrated camera. This is not being detected. I have spoken to Samsung and despite their efforts, they have not got a generic Windows 10 camera driver. I do not need advice on downloading the camera programme or doing updates, interfering with Device Manager, going back to an earlier point before upgrading or uninstalling. Does anyone know where I can find and install a compatible camera driver. I have seen so many on the web but I am nervous to download something which had not been approved.

Problem with Lenovo integrated camera

Thank you for posting on Microsoft Community. I understand the inconvenience you are facing. I will certainly help you with this. This issue may arise due to driver corruption issue. Kindly follow the below given steps to
troubleshoot the issue:

Method 1:

I suggest you to run the Hardware and Devices
troubleshooter and check if it helps.

• Type troubleshooting in the search bar.
• Select Troubleshooting.
• Select View all on the top left corner.
• Click on Hardware and Devices.
• Follow the on-screen instructions to run the troubleshooter.
• Check if issue persists.

Method 2:

You may also update the Camera driver from Device Manager manually and check if this helps.

• Press (Windows key + X) and click on “Device Manager”.
• Expand “Other devices”.

• Right click on the “Integrated webcam” drivers and select “Update Driver Software”. Once this is done, restart the computer and check if the issue persists.

Method 3:

If issue persist, I suggest you to try installing it in compatibility mode. Compatibility mode runs the program using settings from a previous version of Windows. Follow these steps to install the drivers in compatibility mode and check if that helps.

• Download the Integrated webcam drivers from the manufacturer’s website.

• Right-click on the driver setup file and click on ‘Properties’.
• Click on the ‘Compatibility’ tab and check the box
  ‘Run this program in compatibility mode for’ and select Windows 8/8.1 operating system from the drop down menu and proceed with the installation. Once this is done, restart the computer and check if the issue persists.

Integrated camera driver not present in Windows 10

There are several reasons why this issue occurs, such as the driver is required to be downloaded manually to the manufacturer's website or when the driver is hidden. To know more about your query, we would like to know the following:

• What is the make and model of your device?
• Did you make any changes prior to the issue?
• If any, are there any error messages?
• What troubleshooting steps have you done so far?
• Have you tried to check if the show hidden device options is enabled? To do so, under
  Device Manager > click View > then check the
  show hidden device option.
• Have you tried to search automatically for driver software? To do this, we suggest that you follow the steps provided on this

Once your done searching for recommended driver software and Windows doesn't find the camera driver, we suggest that you go to the device manufacturer's website and check for the available driver.

integrated laptop camera not working
