Windows 10: WATCHDOG VIOLATION while i play any kind of videos youtube netflix,etc

Everytime I start to watch any kind of video I get this problem, it starts stuttering and then it goes on to the error screen, I don't know what to do

It's a laptop Asus R541UV
i7-6500u
GTX920mx
16GB ram
5000HD

What more information should i display and how can i get it?

BSOD- DPC Watchdog violation

Bought a new HP laptop with Windows 10 two weeks ago. Have been getting the BSOD stating DPC Watchdog Violation while watching Youtube. Also happened once with Netflix. Already tried updating all of the drivers in device manager. Here is a link to my

Video Playback

When I open any kind of video playback such as Netflix, youtube, or my DVD Player, it always plays the video super zoomed in and in black and white.

Welcome to Ten Forums.

There were 8 bsod mini dump files debugged.
The results displayed 3 misbehaving drivers.
All drivers were hardware drivers.

Open administrative command prompt and type or copy and paste these commands:
1) sfc /scannow
2) dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth
3) chkdsk /scan

4) When these have completed > right click on the top bar or title bar of the administrative command prompt box > left click on edit then select all > right click on the top bar again > left click on edit then copy > paste into the thread

5) Run memtest86+ version 5.01 for at least 8 passes.
This may take many hours so plan to run it overnight.
Memtest86+ - Advanced Memory Diagnostic Tool
When Memtest86+ has completed 8 or more passes use a camera or smart phone camera to take a picture and post an image into the thread.
Testing is not done by time but by passes.
The more passes the better.
There is a high incidence of false negatives if there are less than 8 passes.
A false negative is a pass when there is Malfunctioning RAM.
There is 16 GB of RAM on the computer.
Memtest86+ takes approximately 1 - 2 hours / GB RAM
If there is just 1 error that is a fail and testing can be aborted.
Then test just 1 RAM module at a time in the same DIMM for 8 or more passes.
Again the more passes the better.
If the RAM passes when tested together and fails when tested separately then test another DIMM with 1 RAM for 8 passes and post the results into the thread. This will help differentiate RAM from DIMM / Motherboard problems.

5) Open the Asus website > enter the computer's serial or product number and the operating system > view all available drivers.
a) locate drivers for rtwlane.sys
Look for drivers older than 2017, either 2015 or 2016
You may need to change the operating system to windows 7.0 or 8.1 to find older drivers.
When you find all of the available drivers use the Microsoft snipping tool or print screen/paint or a camera to post images into the thread.
Also view available drivers on the Realtek website for your computer's configuration: Realtek
We have see a lot of bsod related to Realtek rtwlane.sys drivers in Asus laptops. So far the solution has been to roll back drivers.
The driver that is currently installed is a 2017 driver.

For your computer it will be the Realtek rtwlane.sys

b) locate drivers for Nvidia graphics: nvlddmkm+0x1e6d50[/CODE]
c) locate drivers for Asus Touch service: AsusPTPFilter.sys

6) The best way to fix the misbehaving Nvidia driver is to uninstall everything Nvidia using Display driver uninstaller and install new drivers from the computer manufacturer's website or from the Nvidia website.

The computer manufacturer's web site is preferred. Enter the computer's serial or product number and the operating system to view available drivers.


If you use the Nvidia web site be sure the "clean install" box is checked and only install the graphics driver and the physx driver.
