Windows 10: watson.events.data.microsoft.com

I have a small Windows network. These PCs all have Windows 10 and 11. This just happened a couple of days ago. My router has been blocking a site from all PCs. Even if the PC is not using a browser. I finally sniffed out this internet request and it resolves to a Telemetry request.watson.events.data.microsoft.comIP 72.21.81.240 WHOIS - resolves to EdgeCast of Los Angeleswatson.events.data.microsoft.com/Telemetry.Request This request has encrypted data attached to it.My questions1. Is this valid request 2. If it is a valid request what is being sent thanx Steve

Dr Watson used to be the name of a Windows error-checking utility. I didn't think it was used these days but perhaps another Windows component uses its old URL. The website info tool WHOIS Search, Domain Name, Website, and IP Tools - Who.is reports the site watson.events.data.microsoft.com as registered but inactive.
- What are you running when this message appears?
- What further info is revealed when you click on the Details link in that dialog?

If KIS has user forums, search them as well as KIS tech support for the word watson.

Edge Search Does Not Permit Change of Region


I got these suggestions from the Microsoft Community forum.No. 1 worked for me:

Thank you for posting the query on Microsoft Community. I am glad to assist you on this.
We have reproduce the issue here and we are able to access non-regional search for google using Microsoft Edge.
I would suggest you to try the below steps and check if it helps.
Step 1:
Clear browsing data option of Microsoft Edge and check if you face the issue. To do so perform the steps below.

1. Click on the More actions icon next to the feedback icon present on top right corner of the Project Spartan homepage.
2. Select Settings and click on Choose what to clear.
3. Check the boxes Browsing history, Cookies and saved website data and Cached data and files and click on Clear.

Step 2:
I suggest you to create a new user account and check if the issue occurs.

1. Go to Settings.
2. Choose Accounts and then select Family and other users.
3. Select add someone else on this PC.
4. Enter a user name and hit next.
5. Click on Finish.
6. Sign out from the current Account and Log into the new account.

Step 3:
It could also happen because of network issue. I suggest you to try with different network connection and check if it helps.

Step 1: I suggest you to install all the latest pending Windows updates as below and check if it helps.

• Go to “settings” and click on “update and security”.
• Under tab “Windows update”, click on the icon “check for updates”.
• Then once you find the pending updates install it and check.

Step 2: I recommend you to download the Microsoft Safety Scanner from the following link and check if it helps.

• Click Uninstall.
