Windows 10: Way to Link Display Resolution and Battery Saver Mode?

Hi! I couldn't find anything online about this, but I was wondering if there is some way to automatically have Windows decrease my display resolution on my laptop (Dell XPS 15 7590) from the 4K default to something like 1080p to pull more life out of the battery when I put my laptop into battery saver mode. Of course I can just do this myself, but is there any way to automate this so when I click "battery saver mode" my display automatically turns down its resolution?

Thank you for the information. There are several ways on how to turn On or Off battery saver in Windows 10. We suggest trying the steps below and check If it will work for you:



Method 1:

• Open the Action Center (Windows key +
  A).
• Click on the Battery saver action button to toggle it On or Off.

Method 2:

• Open Settings.
• Click on System.
• Choose Battery on the left side and turn On or Off the
  Battery saver status until next charge option.
• Close Settings once done.

Method 3:

• Open Settings.
• Click on System.
• Choose Battery on the left side and check the “Turn battery saver on automatically if my battery falls below:”.
• Adjust the slider to the battery percentage level you want.
• Check or uncheck the Lower screen brightness while in battery saver option if you want.
• Close Settings once done.

Display not dimming in Battery Saver Mode

Hi everybody,



On Cyan there seems to be a bug with the display brightness. When you set brightness to manual and turn on the battery saver, the display does not dim, although the setting for lowering the brightness is on (settings > display > battery saver brightness).
Do you have any clue if this is a bug? I tested it on Lumia 930, Lumia 1020 and Lumia 925 and sometimes it worked but most of the time there was no difference, regardless of whether the battery saving mode is on or off. Perhaps there is improvement in Denim
coming?
