    WD Discovery - Is it a virus? It turned up in my Windows 11 Apps !!


    I have just discovered a new App on my Windows 11 PC. It is called WD Discovery. I also found it in Program File x86 > Western Digital > Discovery > Current. I noticed it first in my Task Manager in Start Up. So I disabled it. I have looked up the internet to find out more about it, but I can't find any positive advice. Is it a virus, or is it a genuine Windows App. If it is a Windows app, what does it do? Can you please help. Cheers, Ken. ...

    WD Discovery software - Surface pro X

    Hi MS,

    i'm unable to install the WD Discovery software on my Surface PRO X

    going through the troubleshooting on WD website, they mention an issue with ARM based CPU and directed me to MS support.

    please advice the steps to install the software

    WD discovery will not install

    WD discovery will not install on my Microsoft surface pro x. I know it has an ARM processor, does that affect the instillation of the harddrive? just want to download movies to hard drive. please help!

    Network Sharing and discovery issue windows 10 home 1909

    1. Make sure that the following dependency services are started:
      • DNS Client
      • Function Discovery Resource Publication
      • SSDP Discovery
      • UPnP Device Host
    2. Configure the Windows firewall to allow Network Discovery. To do this, follow these steps:
      1. Open Control Panel, click System and Security, and then click Windows Firewall.
      2. In the left pane, click Allow an app or feature through Windows Firewall if you are running Windows Server 2012. Or, click Allow a program or feature through Windows Firewall if you are running Windows Server 2008 or Windows Server
        2008 R2.
      3. Click Change settings. If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
      4. Select Network discovery, and then click OK.
    3. Configure other firewalls in the network to allow Network Discovery.
    4. Turn on Network Discovery in Network and Sharing Center.
