    WD Elements 1TB External USB HDD support exFAT


    Hi there

    I am wondering if formatting my WD Elements External Hard Drive to exFAT requires the hardrive to be relatvely new (it is quite old) or would need some sort of compatibility label to be used with exFAT. It is currently NTFS and I am not sure if formatting it to exFAT may cause it to function incorrectly.

    I am wanting the most compatible format for both Windows and Mac, so I believe exFAT is most appropriate.

    Any advice?

    WD Elements 1TB External not working in USB 3.0

    I have WD Elements 1TB external drive, it has a USB 3.0 Supported cable.
    Whenever I plug it in my USB 2.0 port, it works fine but in USB 3.0 port, constant white led is there and doesn't blink. The device manager shows it as not connected and doesn't appear in Disk Management either.
    I have Gigabyte B450M-DS3H motherboard and it's brand new.
    Please help me solve this problem, USB 2 speeds are pathetic *Sad
