Windows 10: WD EXTERNAL DRIVE WORKED ON WINDOWS 11 BUT AFTER CONNECTING TO ANDROID DOES NOT WORK WITH...

For years my WD external HD worked with Windows including windows 11. After connecting it to my Android TV box it also worked. Now the windows 11 computer does not recognise the WD and I cannot access very important files. Why and with limited skills what to do?

I cannot load the WD My Passport software on my Surface 8 computer running Windows 11. Is Windows 11 NOT compatible with the WD external hard drives?

 

3 TB WD External Hard Drive NOT Working [ RAW ]

@Paul Black Please plug in only your faulty 3TB WD drive. ( safely remove all other USB connected storage media.) When you run TestDisk you will then see only your system disk and the faulty 3TB WD. You will run testdisk_win.exe in the testdisk-7.1 folder. ( You may create a shortcut on the Desktop) TestDisk has to be run with admimistrator privileges. Run as administrator. The following screenshots illustrate the work flow. If at anytime you get a screen different from what is shown or you need any clarification, stop, take a screenshot, quit TestDisk and post the screenshot. You can rerun TestDisk later.. Screen 1:

• Is the issue specific to the WD external drive or any other devices also?
• Are you getting any error messages?
• Did you try connecting it to any other devices and check what is the result?
