Windows 10: WD SN770 2TB SSD Crashes After Windows 11 Update—Any Fixes?

I have a Western Digital SN770 2TB NVMe SSD, and I am experiencing Blue Screen of Death BSOD crashes after updating to Windows 11 24H2. The issue appears to stem from changes in Host Memory Buffer HMB allocation, causing system instability, boot failures, and driver malfunctions. My system either fails to boot or freezes completely. I attempted to update the SSD firmware via Western Digital Dashboard, but the problem persists. Fortunately, I had an EaseUS backup, which allowed me to restore from an image, as Windows restore consistently fails to complete successfully. Any advice on how to

I believe so I have a stock MSI GT72 2qd and my WD external is a 2TB.... I apologize Im not a computer guy it was a gift to me

 

Sata WD black 2tb not recognised Windows 10

I've just built a of and everything went smoothly apart from a new install of Windows 10 not recognising my new Sata WD black 2tb HDD.

Asus 97-A

I7 4790k

SSD 250gb Evo 850 which windows 10 boots from.

WD Black 2tb which shows up in the bios and also in the device manager and states the drivers are up to date I've changed the Sata cable and port it's plugged into. I've spent probably 10hrs searching forums and Internet sites for the answer but so far I've
not found anything that works. If anyone has come across the same issue I'll be very grateful if you could share.

 

Windows freezes then blue screen of death.

After installation of a new SSD drive (during which I also replaced one of the fans) and performing clean reinstall of Windows 10, Windows randomly freezes for a minute or 2 then I get BSOD. Generally I can use the computer for a while before this happens (sometimes an hour, sometimes more).

The message reads:

"Your device ran into a problem and needs to restart. We're just collecting some error info, and then we'll restart for you.

...

Stop code: CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED"
