  2. Windows Install - Can’t find SSD driver

I’m trying to install Windows on an Asus Zenbook Q409. When I get to the step to select the storage device and partitions, there are no storage devices listed, but it gives the option to browse for drivers. I confirmed that the SSD is functioning as it is listed in both the UEFI and works fine in an Ubuntu live boot. The SSD is a WD SN 735. When I search for this SSD the closest result I get is a SN730. Where can I find the driver for the WD SN735?

I’ve tried this with both Windows 10 and 11 bootable USBs.

  3. VMware-usb storage device not recognized

    Hello,

I'm running Windows XP in Workstation Player on a Windows 10 laptop.

My USB CD/DVD drive is able to mount in the Player. So is a flash drive.

My Western Digital ssd (My Passport Ultra) is listed in "Removable devices", but fails to mount, giving this error:

WD SSD Storage is no longer recognized by windows 11 167429d1512827650t-vmware-usb-storage-device-not-recognized-usb-device-not-recognized.jpg

In the Virtual Machine settings, the USB controller is using usb 2.0.

The WD ssd is compatible with usb 3.0 and 2.0, and is supported by Windows XP. My desktop computer running Win XP has no problem mounting the drive.

The device manager in virtual Win XP shows it as an "unknown device."

I've read everything I can find on the problem, and tried a number of suggestions from the knowledge base at VMware as well as solutions via google searches.

Perhaps the WD ssd just won't work on the free version of VM Workstation Player (v. 14).

    Anyone have any suggestions?

    Thanks,
    Paul

  4. WD SSD Storage is no longer recognized by windows 11

My WD 1TB HDD, storage drive is only being recognized as 549mb.

I have recently built a new pc with a MSI Z370 A Pro motherboard, Intel I5-8600K cpu, 16GB GSKILL RAM, 256, WD Black 256GB Performance SSD as the primary drive and a WD Blue 1TB HDD as the storage drive. On my BIOS both drives show correctly, however
after Windows 10 loads, the SSD is correct however my Storage drive only registers as 549mbs instead of the actual 1TB. I have tried reformatting the drive, disconnecting the drive and reconnecting, but I can figure out what I need to do to get this drive
    be recognized correctly.
