Windows 10: we are facing below issue while updating windows critical CU patches on almost 80...

we are facing below issue while updating windows critical CU patches on almost 80 computers. processor doesn't support for this version of window, processor is i7 almost 6 years old.

Facing issue with this Windows Update

Hello all. Whenever I open Windows Update I get this update listed in my optional updates. If you can see this is quite an old outdated update and even if I check it and install it. It does not go away and keep lurking in the optional updates can someone please help me how to get rid of this.

 

Windows 10 CU Issues

I am no longer running the Creators Update so I can not do any further testing. I posted this issue in the hopes of possibly determining the issue before I give the CU Upgrade another try.

 

Windows Update patch issue with Windows Server 2008 SP2

I would like to raise a support case regarding Windows Update patch issue with Windows Server 2008 SP2.

Background:



This server has not being patched since 2012 that leaves a big gap and due to constraint to access internet for Microsoft Internet Update, patches are made available from an offline WSUS (import server).

The imported metadata and the copied WSUS Content from Exported consist of

• classification such as Critical, Definition and Security Updates.
• Production Windows Server 2008

To fix the issue mentioned, I have tried out to install the security updates that are before 2019 first and gradually patch it till 2020.

Most of the patches were successfully installed until it failed for :

• KB4474419(2019-06)
• KB4474419(2019-09)
• KB4524135(Cumulative Update for IE9)
• KB4520002(2019-10 Monthly Rollup)

When it failed, several restarted occur to fall back.

OS Name : Microsoft Windows Server 2008 Standard

OS Version : 6.0.6003 Service Pack 2 Build 6003



Any workaround or quickfix will be appreciated.
