  2. SSL Certificate

    The SSL certificate date that was received from the server indicates that the certificate has expired.( In Theory). How to I access this SSL Cert to correct the problem?? I'm lost!!

  3. Exchange SSL certificate issue : error 80072F0D solved, now facing 80072F06

    Hi Toto,

    I spent a few days recently going through the same issues, but managed to work it out with the IT guys that look after the small business I work for. Steps of success were:

    • Use Internet Explorer to navigate to the address of the site (mail.xxxx.com.au rather than the IP address, as I tried both options);
    • Export Certificate in .p7b format using the Certificate export wizard (.p7b format is native to IE, and is compatible with the WP7 software system;
    • Email it as per previous;
    At this point my issue changed from the 80072F0D to the 80072F06, which was a good sign.

    I set the phone up with the following information and it worked:

    • Username: Tthis was NOT the username I used to sign in to my desktop, rather the name of my account (for example, for Joe Bloggs: I would sign in with "jbloggs", but the account name on the exchange server is "joe.bloggs").
    • Password: same for your account.
    • Domain: this is the only tricky part you'll need to sort out with your admin - for me it was a shortened domain name three letters long (e.g. "xyz"), however with my limited knowledge, you may need to check this out,
      as it was the last hurdle.
    • Server: mail.XXXXXXX.com.au (where XXXX is your company name on your mail exchange, and .au only applies to my case because it's an Australian company.
    • Server requires encrypted SSL connection?: Yes
    • Logging: Off (Recommended)
    I hope this helped, because the discussions in this thread have helped me in solving my issue.

    Also - realising that you solved it in your November 27 post, this is more for other people - I didn't need to instally all free certificates from other providers, this worked with the certificate from my small business exchange only.

    Cheers,

    Steve

    changing SSL certification in Windows 10 Mail

    Hi,

    Assuming you are seeing the error: "There is a problem with the server's security certificate. The security certificate is not from a trusted certifying authority.", it often happens when you don't use SSL to secure your email account. To fix this error,
    use the following steps:

    • Choose Settings > Manage Accounts.
    • Choose the account that's out-of-date to display the account settings dialog.
    • Choose Change mailbox sync settings > Advanced mailbox settings. You may have to scroll down in the dialog to see Advanced mailbox settings.
    • Check the boxes for Require SSL for incoming email and
      Require SSL for outgoing email
      and then choose Done >
      Save
      .

    Let us know how it goes.
