    Run-time Error 8020 - Comm Port Error with VB6 App Isolated to Win 10

    We are experiencing run-time error 8020 Comm Port Error using a PIC18F14K50 USB Module to a VB6 application isolated to Win 10 OS Home (did not test other Win 10 versions) and not networked.

    Driver versions 5.1.2600.2 and 5.1.26009 work with above USB module and VB6 application on Win XP, 7 and 8.1, but again not on Win 10. The Microchip PIC USB module using these drivers on Win 10 "does" work with non-VB6 applications. Note, above VB6 application
    works on Win 10 PC with Keyspan USB module and its driver.

    This run-time error has occurred on every PC tested thus far, potentially in the dozens, hence the isolated Win 10 bug claim.

    This issue is critical to our business as our clients aren't able to use our product on Win 10 forcing us to purchase and install older Windows for compatibility.

    Automation Error with an installed VB6 program!

    Hi,

    Have a program (Slideshow Ultra Gold) which creates simple slideshows and worked fine in Windows 10 and initially my Windows 11 install, but today I get this error everytime I preview a slide under Windows 11:

    Run-time error -2147417848 (80010108)

    Automation Error

    The object invoked has disconnected from its clients.

    Most searches return either Excel macro errors or VB programming errors but this is an installed program that has it's own dependencies and registers them during install and was working fine until today? Have not installed any new software and windows is up to date so at a loss as to what's happened? Interestingly it runs fine in Safe Mode so something running in Windows 11 is now preventing it working that didn't yesterday! I have Comodo Free for AV/Firewall and it was working fine while that was running so I exited the program and stopped one of the services but the error still persists when I run the Slideshow program!

    I've also ran sfc /scannow and DISM with the checkhealth switch and all is OK so let's bypass all those suggestions as I see so many replies that seem to be a cut/paste off a cheat sheet that just go though hoop jumping and not solving!

    For it to work yesterday and only in Safe Mode today is just bizarre, so, has anyone come across this error or know how to troubleshoot it?

    VB6 and Run time error 9

    All the sudden when I try to add data in a program the error 9 will come up, but the data is still installed. When you hit enter the data will install, then the program will be ended.

    When I run the program in a VB6 program it works OK.

    This program worked great for 10 years then all the sudden in Win 7 this started. I'm now using Win 10 with the same thing is happening.

    Can someone help
