Windows 10: "We are unable to connect right now. Please check your network and try again later."

A friend just got a new Dell desktop computer. During first time entering registration info, not sure if it was for Dell or Microsoft, after entering only part of his email address, the part before the @, that screen disappeared. Later, he signed into Microsoft using his full email address and was able to sign in. Later, he complained to me that he didn't want to enter his pin or password every time the computer stated up. I talked him thru the "netplwiz" screen. When he rebooted he got that error message "We Are Unable to Connect Right Now. Please check your network and try again later". That partial email address didn't show on the list in the netplwiz window. We tried all combinations of that partial email address, full email address and no password and passwords but to no avail. Any help would be appreciated.

Network Connectivity Issue

The problem you've encountered with your network connection is most likely caused by an outdated network driver since this appeared after the recent update. We suggest updating the driver for your network adapter. Please follow the steps below:

• Right-click Windows key and click Device Manager.
• Expand the Network adapters category.
• Right-click the one that says Ethernet Connection, then click

Does any one know how to fix this issue where your lock screen image is skipped and this message displays on the sign in screen that loads as soon as you boot your computer up:

I'm using a school (local) account and am using windows 10 education edition on the build 1607

 

Brand new Win10 machine - We are unable to connect right now. Please check your network and try again later

Hi,

Brand new XPS 13 from Dell with Windows 10 Pro. I went through the initial Welcome steps to enter my Microsoft account and everything worked fine. It then rebooted me to an actual Windows login screen and now I can't login.

I put in my email and password and just get an error saying: We are unable to connect right now. Please check your network and try again later.

I am connected to my network just fine as it let me do the initial setup steps without any issues. Now I'm stuck at a login screen and can't do anything. The login screen says Other User and asks for my Work or school account which is what I'm entering.
What do I do?
