Hi Team,we are unable to upgrade windows 10 version 2004 to 21h2 by enablement package in some systems so please suggest, what we required in old version system before upgrading

Servicing stack update for Windows 10, version 2004: September 8, 2020 or a later servicing stack update

May 11, 2021 - KB5003173 (OS Build 19041.985) or a later cumulative update

Updated from 20H2 to 21H2, no way to go back?

You are right, Windows would normally delete them and they will fail if you use them.
I've never seen a report of Windows keeping them across Version updates before.

The OP's initial upgrade with its Windows.old would have removed all previous restore points as they were no longer valid for the new system files. But restore points created by 2004 or later should not need to be deleted deleted by the feature update to 21H2 using the enablement package. Because the system files are the same ones as before the update, then the restore points are still valid.

Restoring one from before the feature update would remove the enablement package of course and return the OP's system to 20H2.

+1 for the system imaging suggestion. A system image can be a life-saver.
