Windows 10: "We can't find this file" Video Editor - I'm at a lost.

Hello there,


I've spent a few days working on a video and I have always managed to pick right off where I last left it.


Went to continue editing the project this morning, roughly two hours ago, and this is what I was met with:


The videos which have been sitting rather nicely in the Project Libary have vanished as well. However, they are still located within the folder that the unfinished project is in.


Everything I have tried so far to try and resolve the issue but has not worked so far:

• Repair Microsoft Photo App - through app settings.
• Checked the type video files and what they open with - MP4 file/Opens with Photos
• I have not moved the folder of the unfinished project - It is sitting there untouched in the Pictures folder, where the Video Project automatically saved it.
• I have not renamed the folder of the unfinished project - Video Projects named it Video Projects and that too has remained untouched
• Re-added the videos to the Project Libary from the Video Project file
• Checked for updates on Microsoft Store - Only app needing updated was My Phone App, which is now.
• The videos for this project were shot using my laptop inbuilt web camera, which is 0.922 megapixel - A very long way away from being that HD crystal clear picture, so the videos are rather small files.

But alas... the dreaded "We can't find this file" is still here. It's presence is as unwelcomed as an unwanted lingering smell.





My System Type is a 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor

Edition and Version is Windows 10 Home, 2004


Hoping someone can guide me in finding the solution to this issue without having to lose the entire video project.

MP3 Files Not Recognized By Windows 10 When Adding To A Video Editor

There are a lot of possible reasons why the MP3 files unrecognizable when adding to a video editor. This may be due to limitations of supported file formats or the video editor that you are using needs to be updated. To isolate the issue, we'd like to ask

• What troubleshooting steps have you tried so far?
• Did you successfully add a MP3 file to your video editor before?
• What's the application that you are using when editing a video?

Video Editor

I am using MS Video Editor and am working on a project that has both videos and .jpg pics. When I went to open the editor, the project would load, it shows the pics and videos I have loaded into the project, but the Storyboard wouldn't load. It looks
like the app is trying to load the storyboard, but after a few minutes, the app shuts down. I followed the steps online to repair and reset and have now lost my work, but I want to be sure the app is working properly and there are no issues with it before
I start and rebuild the project. Also, the app autosave my work, where does it put the saved Storyboard file?
